This project began with the conversion of a non-WordPress site into a fully custom WordPress build. At the client’s request, no page builder was used, resulting in a leaner codebase, faster load times, and a streamlined user experience.

To achieve this, I developed multiple custom post types and restructured schema content to maintain proper structured data for SEO. I also implemented custom PHP and JavaScript to restore features from the original site—such as Recipes and Terms of the Day—while following the site’s design guidelines.

The rebuild also involved using Flexbox for responsive mobile formatting, reformatting the site’s extensive written content for modern browsers, and enhancing SEO through optimized schema markup. The end result was a modern, performant, and fully functional site that preserved the interactivity and content depth of the original while meeting current web standards.
